Frequently Asked Questions
Premium Room (Seafront, Outdoor Shower) FAQs
What does the Premium Room (Seafront, Outdoor Shower) look out on?
This room faces the water, with beach and Caribbean views through floor-to-ceiling windows. InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort Spa sits on Cozumel's southwest shore, on a private beach facing the channel between the island and the mainland. It also fronts the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, so the outlook is the sea rather than the island interior.
How are the beds set up, and who does the room sleep comfortably?
You choose 1 King Bed or 2 Queen Beds, and the room sleeps up to 4 guests in 431 sq. ft. Bedding is premium, with Egyptian cotton sheets and a down comforter, and hypo-allergenic options are available. A rollaway/extra bed and a crib are both free, so families can add a sleeper without changing rooms.
What is the outdoor shower, and what is the rest of the bathroom like?
The category name refers to the outdoor shower, which sits alongside the indoor bathroom. Inside, the private bathroom has a rainfall showerhead plus hand-held and height-adjustable showerheads, and a heated floor. Bathrobes, slippers, designer toiletries, a hair dryer and towels are provided. Grab bars in the shower are offered in applicable rooms.
Is the Premium Room a good choice for families?
Yes. The resort welcomes guests of all ages, and this room sleeps 4 with a free rollaway bed or free crib on request. The Planet Trekkers kids' club runs supervised activities for children from about 5 to 12 (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) at no charge. The resort also has a children's pool. In-room childcare is available for a surcharge, and the restaurants offer children's menus.
Is this room a good fit for couples?
With a king bed option, floor-to-ceiling sea views and an outdoor shower, it suits a romantic stay well. The resort has an adults-focused tranquility pool. Ikal Spa offers couples massage and a Temazcal (Mayan sweat lodge) ceremony, and its hours are 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
How close are the beach, pools and restaurants?
The resort has nearly 1,000 feet of private white-sand beach, and the hotel advertises its beach and waters as sargassum-free. There are two outdoor pools, one an infinity-style pool with ocean views, and the posted pool hours are 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. On site you'll find four restaurants: El Caribeño (open-air, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM), Le Cap Beach Club, Alfredo Di Roma Trattoria and Faro Blanco. There are also two bars.
What is included, and what costs extra?
The room includes free Wi-Fi, a complimentary bottle of water, turndown service, a coffee/tea maker and a minibar. The free rollaway bed and crib are also included. Buffet breakfast, served 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, is charged separately at roughly USD 28 for adults and USD 14 for children. Pool cabanas and special lounge chairs are a paid upgrade. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon.
How do I get from the airport to the resort, and do I need a car?
Cozumel International Airport is on the same island, roughly a 15-minute drive away. The resort has no airport shuttle, so guests arrange their own transfer. A taxi costs about $29–35, and there is no Uber on the island. Parking at the hotel is free if you rent a car. Downtown San Miguel is about 7 minutes away.
What is there to do around the resort, and when is the best time to stay?
The reef is right in front of the resort, and the on-site PADI dive center, Scuba Du, has operated from the private beach and dock since 1992. It rents snorkel gear, kayaks and jet skis and offers fishing and snorkeling tours. December to April is the dry season, with calmer seas and the clearest water. It is also peak cruise season on the island. October and November are quieter and often better value.
