Frequently Asked Questions

Premium Room (Reef View with Beach Access) FAQs

What does the Premium Room (Reef View with Beach Access) look out on?
The room faces the water, with sweeping reef and ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows. InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort Spa sits on a private beach of nearly 1,000 feet directly in front of the Arrecifes de Cozumel (Cozumel Reefs) National Marine Park, so the view looks over one of the island's best-known reef areas.
How are the beds set up, and how many guests can the room sleep?
The room has a one-bedroom layout with 1 King or 2 Queen Beds and sleeps up to four guests. Bedding includes Egyptian cotton sheets, hypo-allergenic options and a down comforter. A rollaway/extra bed and a crib are both available free of charge for families.
How does the private beach access work, and what is there to do on the water?
The room gives you direct access to the resort's private white-sand beach, which the hotel advertises as sargassum-free. The on-site Scuba Du dive center rents snorkel gear, kayaks and jet skis and offers snorkeling and fishing tours. A PADI dive center has operated from the resort's private dock since 1992, so reef snorkeling and diving start right at the hotel.
What is the bathroom like in this room?
The private bathroom has a rainfall showerhead plus a hand-held, height-adjustable showerhead and a grab bar in the shower. The heated bathroom floor is a comfortable touch in the morning. You will also find bathrobes, slippers, designer toiletries, a hair dryer and towels.
Is the Premium Room suitable for families?
Yes. The resort welcomes guests of all ages, and this room offers a free crib and a free rollaway bed. The Planet Trekkers kids' club runs 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for children roughly 5 to 12, with supervised activities themed around Mexican history and culture, at no charge. In-room childcare carries a surcharge. The resort also has a children's pool.
What comforts come with the room, and what costs extra?
In the room you get turndown service, complimentary bottled water, a coffee and tea maker, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable, premium channels and pay movies, and Wi-Fi. The room rate is not an all-inclusive package. The buffet breakfast, served 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, is about USD 28 for adults and USD 14 for children. Spa treatments and upgraded cabanas or lounge chairs are also paid extras.
Where can I eat and swim without leaving the resort?
The resort has four restaurants and two bars. El Caribeño is an open-air palapa restaurant beside the sea, open 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM with no reservation needed. Le Cap Beach Club serves Mediterranean dishes from 11:00 AM. Alfredo Di Roma Trattoria and Faro Blanco are dinner-only and require reservations. There are two outdoor pools, including an infinity-style pool with ocean views and an adults-focused tranquility pool, plus Ikal Spa on site.
How do I get to the resort, and what are the check-in times?
The resort is on Cozumel's southwest shore. There is no complimentary airport shuttle, so guests arrange their own transport; a taxi from Cozumel International Airport takes about 9 minutes and costs roughly $29–35. Downtown San Miguel is about 7 minutes away. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. Guests need a photo ID and credit card at check-in, and the main guest must be 18 or older.
When is the best time to book a reef-view room in Cozumel?
December through April is the dry season, with calmer seas, lower humidity and the best underwater visibility. February through June is cited as the best window for diving and snorkeling. October and November are shoulder months with fewer crowds. December through March is also busy with cruise ships on the island, so the town can be crowded even though the resort stays on its own private beach.
