Frequently Asked Questions

Premium Room, Balcony FAQs

What does the Premium Room, Balcony at InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort Spa look out on?
This 431 sq. ft. room has a private balcony with ocean views. The resort sits on Cozumel's southwest shore, on a private beach facing the channel between the island and the mainland, and the room is dressed to take in that open horizon. It is a good choice if you want to start the morning with coffee from the in-room coffee/tea maker while looking out over the water.
How are the beds arranged, and how many people can the room sleep?
The room has one king bed with premium bedding, Egyptian cotton sheets, a down comforter and hypo-allergenic bedding. It sleeps up to 3 guests. A rollaway/extra bed is provided at no charge, and a free crib is available for infants. That suits a couple, or a couple with one child.
What is the bathroom like?
The private bathroom has a rainfall showerhead as well as hand-held and height-adjustable showerheads, and a grab bar in the shower. The floor is heated. Bathrobes, slippers, designer toiletries, a hair dryer and towels are provided. The hotel also offers wheelchair-accessible rooms, so guests with mobility needs should ask for the right room at booking.
What is included with this room, and is the stay all-inclusive?
The room is not sold as all-inclusive. What comes with it: complimentary bottled water, a coffee/tea maker, a minibar, a laptop-compatible safe, a rollaway bed, a crib, free self-parking and valet parking, and supervised kids' club activities at no charge. The buffet breakfast is extra, at about USD 28 for adults and USD 14 for children. Pool cabanas and special lounge chairs are also paid upgrades.
Is this room suitable for families with children?
Yes, the resort welcomes guests of all ages. The room has a free rollaway bed and crib, and in-room childcare is available for a surcharge. The Planet Trekkers kids' club is for ages 5 to 12, runs 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with free supervised activities themed on Mexican history and culture, and there is also a children's pool. A king bed plus a rollaway is comfortable for two adults and one child; larger families may want to ask about a bigger room.
Where are the beach, pools and restaurants in relation to the room?
All of them are on the resort grounds. The hotel has nearly 1,000 feet of private white-sand beach and two outdoor pools, one an infinity-style pool with ocean views. There is also an adults-focused tranquility pool. Dining includes four restaurants: El Caribeño, Le Cap Beach Club, Alfredo Di Roma Trattoria and Faro Blanco. The hotel also has two bars or lounges, and Ikal Spa is open 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
How do I get to the resort, and what are check-in times?
Cozumel is an island, so guests arrive by air at Cozumel International Airport or by passenger ferry from Playa del Carmen, which takes about 35–45 minutes. The hotel has no airport shuttle, so you will need to arrange your own transport. A taxi from the airport takes roughly 9 minutes and costs about $29–35. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. Guests need a photo ID and credit card, and the main guest must be at least 18.
What is there to do around the resort, and when is the best time to visit?
The resort fronts the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, and its on-site PADI dive center has operated since 1992. Scuba Du also rents snorkel gear and kayaks. Chankanaab National Park and downtown San Miguel are both a short taxi ride away. December to April is the dry season, with calmer seas and the best underwater visibility. It is also peak cruise-ship season on the island. October and November are quieter and often better value.
